A noted occult investigator and author of several disturbing books. Sebastian Ashley knew Rupert Skellan through Mark Wainthrop and has become acquianted with Gary Kennedy and Archibald Smythe following the MacMorn affair. Originally born in Ontario, Canada, he attended the University of Toronto at the same time as Rupert Skellan, but spent the war years as a journalist in America. He is now a US citizen.

F

Dr. Andrew Foling, M.D.

Brother of the reknowned Dr. Thomas Foling, he is the family physician to the Skellan family. He has a select general practice in Toronto. His war service in East Africa in the Medical Corps has made him an expert in tropical diseases. Although this is a rarely required skill in Toronto, on the few occasions when people have turned up there with strange illnesses, he has usually been involved.

Dr. Thomas Foling, M.D.

A leading psychologist in Toronto and brother of Dr. Andrew Foling. He is an associate director of the Royal Toronto Asylum. A keen Freudian, he is a keen advocate of dream analysis and electro-shock therapy. He has written a number of learned monographs on the subject of psychopathic personality disorders.

G

Archibald Grimm Esq.

Solicitor to the Wainthrop family, and a partner in a London firm. An intensely boring man (he never uses his first name), but absolutely trustworthy. It has been said that Grimm helped to cover up one of Sir Hugo’s more scandalous extra-marital affairs; although Grimm would never comment on the matter to anyone. He has extensive experience in handling money and property matters.

Mr. Mark Gott, M.A.

The Skellen family solicitor in Toronto, Canada. His family came to England from Germany in 1817 and from thence to Canada in 1915 due to the wave of anti-German sentiment in Britain at the time. He is a noted member of the Canadian Philological Society.

Jeremy Maddocks

Former aviator during the Great War, now a dilettante and a socialite. Has undertaken several, independently finance, expeditions in the Far East in search of adventure. Otherwise indulges in excessive socialising, party-going and womanising when in London. Is currently, it would seem, trying to spend his £1m inheritance as rapidly as possible.

Associate of Kennedy's. Owns a Boston-based small mining firm. Neophyte of the Order of the Silver Twilight in Boston.

W

Capt. Mark Wainthrop, M.A.

An occult investigator of some notoriety amongst the community over his methods who was killed in 1921 on an expedition in Greenland. He was regarded as a authoritative source on the more sinister aspects of the Mythos due to his wide reading, but this degree of knowledge had also led other investigators to question his motives and sanity.

Dr. Gordon Walsh, M.D.

Medical doctor in private practice on Harley Street. Has been the family doctor to the Delaneys for 25 years. Trustworthy and straight as a die, probably wouldn’t put up with any “funny business” unless there was a damn good reason. His son, Ernest, is at medical school.

Attached to the Department of Archaeology and Anthropology, University of London. Member of the Bedford Archaeological Research Society.

Professor Eric Williamson, M.A.

Professor of Early American Archaeology at Harvard University and a lecturer of Gary Kennedy's. Also a good friend of Professor Henry Armitage. An expert on Mesoamerican Pre-Columbian artefacts, but also a holder of some very unorthodox views on Mayan cultural backgrounds.
